These shims are designed for fine adjustment of differential gear backlash and are used at the differential joint cup.
In response to feedback that precise backlash adjustment could not be achieved using only the conventional 0.1mm thick shims (R31M023 / R31M033), we have introduced 0.05mm thick shims, allowing for much finer and more accurate adjustment.
